“College Girl Who Loves to Travel”
Rachel is a University of Florida student in her second year. Her father runs a successful small business. She lives in a two-parent house with one brother three years younger than her. It was always her dream to go to the University of Florida as well as study abroad. She also plans to work in New York City when she graduates. Rachel decided not to join a sorority while in school. She has many friends but does not have the network some of her friends in sororities do. She wants a nice apartment that is close to campus where she can live with her friends. She is looking to sign a lease for her junior year with her three friends, but knows she wants to study abroad for one semester and potentially intern out of state during the summer. She will not be able to afford two leases while studying abroad or interning and knows she will need to find someone to sublease her apartment. It is important to her to live with her friends, so they can enjoy their shows together during the week like The Bachelor. Because of this she does not want to find a separate sublease from a stranger she does not know. She is majoring in Public Relations. She loves to binge Netflix shows like Friends and The Office and go to the gym or run when she has free time. She is considering getting a puppy but does not know if she is ready for the responsibility. On the weekend, she likes to drink socially with friends and go to parties and bars.

Hi Ben, This is a perfect avatar to depict your ideal customer. She has a look of confidence but in her eyes you can see that she has some worry about her, likely about subleasing an apartment. I think that you are spot on with your avatar! Let's hope that her parents can help her or she can work something out with those roommates so she can study abroad.
ReplyDeleteHi Benjamin,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading about your avatar. You have described the typical female college student and her need to sublease for one semester is one of many good reasons why she would need a shorter lease agreement for an apartment. I had a friend who was graduating after fall semester but he had to lease his apartment for the whole year, so it is a problem for some students when they don't have the option to lease for shorter times. Great post!
Hi Benjamin,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading about your avatar, and prototypical customer. I can appreciate how you created a very practical scenario in which the customer benefits from what you are selling. The fact that the scenario is realistic and relatable makes what you're selling feel like a necessity to the market you are selling to, which appears to be everyday college students. Personally, I am interested to see what new ideas you will bring to the table in subsequent posts. Well done!
Hi Benjamin,
ReplyDeleteYou provided many details to create a character that clearly shows who you are targeting. You also explained why leasing is a problem for her, as it would be for many others. It shows the average student experiences the problem, and makes one think of other people that like the same shows, are the same age, or are in the same major that would benefit from your service.
Hi Ben,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading about your avatar Rachel! She seems really cool and I feel like her and my avatar would be friends. I also like how in your post you described every bit of detail about her even about how she would enjoy watching friends, or on the weekends socially drink with her friends. So, overall you had a great post this week.
