Halfway Relflection

1) The main skill I have learned and developed throughout this course is thinking like an entrepreneur. Since beginning this course and in the process of completing the assignments, I have gained a new world view and see things very differently. This new skill will hopefully help me start my business one day. I am constantly looking at things differently, thinking differently and coming up with more and more ideas and thinks that need to be changed or updated.
2) This summer, I began studying for the LSAT. This is a standardized test that is required to apply to law school. When I took my first practice test before studying, the score I got was extremely discouraging. I saw what I was starting with and what the scores to get into top law schools are, and I knew it would be unlikely to increase my score the amount it would take to get a satisfactory score. However, with hard work and dedication, I was able to achieve the score I wanted and now am accepted to the law school of my choice. This class has helped me develop a tenacious attitude significantly. Reading the book, "Grinding it Out, The Making of McDonalds" taught me how important hard work is and why you should always stay motivated. These are things I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
3) The three tips I would offer to students taking this course next semester are:
-Be confident in yourself: You can do anything you set your mind to.
-If you work hard, your goals will be achieved
-Do not stress too hard about anything; Life always works itself out and happens for a reason.

  1. Hi Benjamin,
I have to agree that this class has also made me see the world as an entrepreneur as I see opportunities everywhere I look now. Congratulations on getting into the law school of your choice! That just shows that you didn't let your bad score define who you are and proved that you can improve in anything that you put your mind to. Hard work and effort will definitely help you achieve your dreams, great advice!

  2. Hi Ben,
I've always just tried to do assignments ahead of time when it comes to this class. So, when I read that you actually try to think more like an entrepreneur I was enlightened. What a great idea! I will definitely try this out for the next few assignments. I also think the tips you gave are essential for not just class, but life. Confidence is key. Great job!

  3. Hi Benjamin, I also agree that the class has helped me look at things around me differently and think like an entrepreneur. In fact, one can start seeing this change after the first assignment itself, which was the bug list. Even I read the same book as you and it has helped me too. I also completely agree with the all the tips you have mentioned in the post.

  4. Hi Ben! I am with our other classmates on this one, this class has definitely given me a different outlook on the term "thinking like an entrepreneur". Confidence is a key trait in someone that wants to enter the world of entrepreneurship, you will fail without it. If someone wants to work hard to achieve a certain goal they will always prosper!

  5. Hey Ben,
I agree, this class has definitely taught me how to think like an entrepreneur. I have realized that great ideas may not be feasible, and could be the explanation as to why solutions have not been created to many of the world's problems. Also, I realized that something that may be a problem to one person, may not be to another person. For example, waiting in line at Starbucks. Very well done, Ben!
